Congrats on your fabulous website. I'm currently in Australia looking at schools in the area for my son, who will start in Reception, not long after we move to Sheffield later this year. Your website is the most interesting and curent one that I've found so far. Looks like you do a lot of great things at your school. It's great to see :-)

I have enjoyed looking at the great pictures of the 2008 Egglympics. What magnificent designs and structures and such a lot of hard work done at home! Well done to all competitors! I will really look forward to seeing the Egglympics myself next year and hope I can bring some sunshine with me! :)

HI, just finished the egglympics. Really great fun for us all, apart from the weather! Meggsico (rightly) won, and the Porteggal team came second, despite having only flukiness on their side! (that means you, Ben, Andy and Dan!)

I was in the team francegg and we came 4th! not bad.but our parachute let us down because it would have been great if only that big gust of wind didn't come. The egg fell out but the parachute went into the Y3/Y4 playground!!

I'm now 59 and can remember my early years spent in Dore School 1953-55. My family then moved to Manchester. I have very fond memories of the time I attended Dore School and have found some pictures of the village around this time. If there are other ex pupils from this time, I would be happy to hear from them.

Hello (: I went to Dore Primary from reception - yr6, and all I can say that it's a bit too cool.
I am living In Australia at the moment, but i'm coming home to visit Sheffield in December, so brace yourselves kids.
Hello to Mrs. Addis, Mr. Scarfe, and any other teachers that I had, but i've forgotten the names of.
See you all soon!

I was in Mr Scholey's first class at Dore juniors and had a fantastic time there before going onto King Ecgberts in Summer 1978 and then Leicester Polytechnic.

I am now the Group Tax Manager for a FT-SE 100 company and live just outside Leicester with my wife and 3 children. The youngest is not yet at school but Catriona and Imogen are in the juniors and infants respectively.

It is nice to hear that the school is doing well.

This weekend the Girls and Boys table tennis squads have been in action trying to win through to the National finals. Despite everyone in both squads playing really well neither team has made it through but there is no shame in finishing as one of the top ten table tennis squads in the country! I am so proud of your performances, the way you conducted yourselves as well as the support you gave each other all the way through the competition. Thank you for being such fantastic representatives of the school.

An equally HUGE thankyou must go to all the parents who have supplied support and lifts from the first round at the EIS through to the events this weekend in Grantham and Blackburn. I simply could not do my job without you. Yet again you have shown commitment and encouragement all the way through and everyone at the school would like to thankyou!!

I'm leaving quite a long message. No idea why? :S And I'm using loooaaadddsss of smileys :-P.

Well done to all those who took part in the Table Tennis competition at the English Institute of Sport. You were a credit to the school and yourselves. The Boys' A and B squads as well as the Girls' A squad are through to the next round in Bradford in January. This is an excellent result and means the school has retained the title of South Yorkshire Champions for the 7th year in a row. Thanks Shaun and Ken for being such great coaches! Also a huge thank you to all the parents who gave lifts and supported the team on Monday - without parents like you my job would be much harder!!
