2008 Egglympic Competition

The day dawned drizzly, cold and damp, as last year but despite the weather conditions the year six children were excited and enthusiastic about their Egglympics day.

Equipment was, as always, made at home by enthusiastic children and their families.

Events were:
The high jump - propell an egg over the top of the school fence.

The long jump - fling an egg as far as possible across the football pitch.

The marathon - how far an egg will roll along the playground.

The sprint - making an egg travel across the playground in the fastest time.

The parachute drop - style and timing is everything in this round as raw eggs are parachuted out of the classroom window.

Each team also had to produce a portfolio of information about their team. This included information about their eggletes, designs for equipment used and evaluations of their equipment.
