The Wednesday Walk

One of the best things we do in Reception is our Wednesday walk. The two Reception classes explore Dore. Every week we take a different route. Sometimes we are looking for something special, like mini-beasts, or house numbers, or things beginning with 'b'. (One week we found Bertina Bear.) Sometimes we're just going for a walk because it is fun. We like to invite parents to come with us, and every week we like to take Mr. Wileman with us.
Charles: "I like walking with my partner because I like talking to them."

Verity: "I like it when my Mummy comes."

Nicholas: " I liked when James was my partner."

Evie: "I liked seeing Isabelle's Mum in her car because she waved to me."

Eleanor: "I liked seeing all the numbers when I was at the front of the line."
Mr. Wileman: I really like talking to the children, seeing where they live, where their grannies live- all the social side of the walk is great!"
Hannah M.: "I like seeing all the pretty flowers."

Lucy M.: "I like it when we see horses. One week my friend's Mummy was on one."

Debbie Pitts (Mum): "Helping out on the Wednesday walk has been the ideal way to get to know my child's teacher and classmates in a fun and interesting way."

Katie G: " I like seeing all the shops"

Amy: " I like walking past my house"

Jack: " I like looking at the insects"
Mrs. Tongue (Teaching Assistant): "We always find loads to talk about and it is interesting to see our area in different weather and different seasons."
